The West Michigan Blues Society is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), Michigan non-profit corporation, organized in 1991.
We are an affiliate member of 
the Blues Foundation
and a member of 
the Grand Rapids Arts Council
Statement of Purpose
The West Michigan Blues Society was organized to:
Promote blues appreciation by sponsoring concerts, festivals and community events.
Cooperate and correspond with other blues oriented groups, locally and around the world, and exchange ideas that will enhance the program locally and nationally.
Provide an opportunity for blues fans to meet and enjoy the fellowship of others with similar interests.
Foster greater awareness and love of the blues among the commuinty by teaching and performing blue in schools and elsewhere.
The WMBS is a non-stock corporation organized and run by a member-elected Board of Directors.
Board of Directors
The Board is elected by the general membership annually. The offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer are decided at the first business meeting following the elections.
